    Founded in 1982, Search for Common Ground works to transform the way the world deals with conflict \u2013 away from adversarial approaches and towards collaborative problem-solving. Search works with local partners to find culturally appropriate means to strengthen societies\u2019 capacity to deal with conflicts constructively: to understand the differences and act on the commonalities.<\/p>

    Search for Common Ground works at all levels of society to build sustainable peace through three main avenues: dialogue, media, and community. Search brings people together across dividing lines to discover and achieve shared goals; use media to stir up discussion about the root causes of violence and how to overcome differences, and provide a safe space for people to work out their conflicts at the local level.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      The Peace Centre started out in 1974 as Isis-Women\u2019s International Cross Cultural Exchange (Isis-WICCE), a global resource centre for women human rights defenders to document and disseminate women\u2019s own experiences, concerns and ideas for ending gender inequality. In 1994, we moved from Geneva to Uganda, carving out the niche of women, peace and security. The Peace Centre uses its own WEAVE model to catalyze women\u2019s power for peace by integrating research, documentation, holistic healing, skills and movement building as well as advocacy.<\/p>

      Women\u2019s International Peace Centre (The Peace Centre) works with partners in conflict-affected settings and with regional institutions in Africa and Asia to ensure that women not only powerfully contribute to peace building processes and results, but also transform these spaces to be more gender inclusive and gender responsive.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      Formed in 2003, the African Security Sector Network (ASSN) has established itself as a reputable network of African security sector reform practitioners on the African continent and internationally. ASSN has a wealth of experience and leadership in promoting democratic Security Sector Governance (SSG) and Security Sector Reform (SSR), with a wide and diverse membership of recognised professionals and academics.<\/p>

      The ASSN exists to facilitate progress towards the achievement of effective and democratically governed security sectors across Africa. It pursues this mission by working to strengthen the capacities of African governments, national security institutions, parliaments, intergovernmental organisations and civil society groups to undertake and own SSR programmes.         The West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) is a leading Regional Peacebuilding organization founded in 1998 in response to civil wars that plagued West Africa in the 1990s. Over the years, WANEP has succeeded in establishing strong national networks in every Member State of ECOWAS with over 500 member organizations across West Africa.<\/p>

        WANEP places special focus on collaborative approaches to conflict prevention, and peacebuilding, working with diverse actors from civil society, governments, intergovernmental bodies, women groups and other partners in a bid to establish a platform for dialogue, experience sharing and learning, thereby complementing efforts at ensuring sustainable peace and development in West Africa and beyond.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

          Founded in 2003, The Liaison Office (TLO) is an Afghan non-governmental organization (NGO) that emerged from a Swiss peace pilot project (supported by the Heinrich B\u00f6ll Stiftung) on good governance after the organization was approached by southeastern province community elders requesting assistance for participation in the peace and reconstruction process. TLO has since evolved into an independent Afghan NGO registered under number 611 with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

              The Van Vollenhoven Institute for Law, Governance and Society (VVI) is part of the Leiden Law School.<\/p>

              The VVI seeks to develop and disseminate socio-legal knowledge and theory regarding the interaction between law, governance and society.               The Rift Valley Institute (RVI) is an independent, non-profit organization, founded in Sudan in 2001, currently working in eastern and central Africa.               The Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (CSPPS) is a member-led international network composed of civil society actors, practitioners, experts and academics from the Global South and Global North who work together on conflict and crisis prevention, peacebuilding and statebuilding in over 27 fragile and conflict-affected countries (FCAS).<\/p>

              First hosted and coordinated by Interpeace, and now by Cordaid, CSPPS has been acting since 2011 as the central platform where civil society ideas are generated, where progress with regard to the Peacebuilding and Statebuilding Goals (PSG) is discussed, and where consensus is sought on the course of action to be taken with respect to the International Dialogue on Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (IDPS).<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

                In each country, local partners are contracted through members of the Just Future consortium: Cordaid, Search for Common Ground, WIPC, ASSN and TLO Afghanistan.<\/p>

                The Alliance implements the program towards 3 outcome areas:\u00a0equitable access to justice;\u00a0responsive and people-centred security; and\u00a0inclusive decision-making and peace processes.
