A Convergence of Expertise and Enthusiasm
We are delighted to share the highlights of the recent Just Future International Planning Workshop, which took place from September 26, 2023, to September 28, 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya. This event marked a significant milestone in our collective efforts to advance Just Future’s mission of strengthening civil society in fragile contexts and promoting accessible, responsive, and accountable security and justice institutions.
The Just Future International Planning Workshop saw the convergence of dedicated teams from our Global Office, Country Offices, and our invaluable local partners. This gathering provided a unique and powerful platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and joint planning. It was an opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made and chart the path forward.
Diving into the Action: Exchange, Feedback, and Synergy
The first morning of the workshop was dedicated to a lively exchange of the plans that have been developed by our teams and international partners. This interactive session allowed for feedback, cross-pollination of ideas, and the identification of areas where we can work even closer together. It is in these moments of shared insight that we can enhance our collective impact.
MTR Insights for Improvement
Another key topic that we delved into was the Mid-Term Review (MTR), which brought forth numerous valuable suggestions for improvement. The workshop provided the ideal setting to discuss how to translate these recommendations into action and prioritize them. We acknowledge that coordinating among numerous partners, structures, and levels can be challenging, and we are committed to addressing this complexity together.
Focusing on Crucial Aspects
Our discussions touched on crucial aspects of our work, including improving working as an alliance, coordination, southern leadership, capacity strengthening, and the enhancement of our Lobby and Advocacy efforts. Communication was recognised as a vital pillar for achieving the objectives of Just Future in 2024.
Beyond Work: Building Bonds and Memories
In the spirit of fostering strong partnerships, consortium partners engaged in special activities, including a safari adventure and the joy of experiencing local dances. These moments of camaraderie are invaluable in building the bonds that empower us to make a difference together.
As we look to the future, we are inspired by the commitment, dedication, and collaborative spirit that the Just Future International Planning Workshop showcased. We are excited to harness this momentum and continue making strides in our mission.
